The Uttar Pradesh Administrative Department is likely to have a big change once again. Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh’s term ends on July 31, and now the eyes of the state are fixed on whether he will get service extension or a new officer will be given this important responsibility.
Possibility of service expansion:
The state government is in favor of expanding service to Manoj Kumar Singh and in this connection, a formal letter has also been sent to the central government in the first week of July. But the final approval has not yet been received from the Center, due to which uncertainty remains.
If not expanded, then who is ahead in the race?
If Manoj Kumar Singh does not get service extension, the names of three senior officers are being considered as the race for the post of Chief Secretary:
SP Goyal (ACS) – Across the priorities of skilled administrative officer and government.
Deepak Kumar – Earlier, the administrative hold of many important positions, a stubborn administrative hold.
Devesh Chaturvedi – Administrative experience in both the Center and the state.
Political and administrative equations important:
The post of Chief Secretary is very important not only from administrative but also from political perspective, especially when preparations for the 2027 assembly elections are gradually starting. In such a situation, the government would like to choose an officer who is reliable and can implement the priorities of governance effectively.
