New Delhi. The crime branch’s investigation into the Pune Porsche car accident case has intensified. The police have already arrested the doctors who changed the blood sample of the minor accused. Now the investigation is focused on when, how and under what circumstances his blood sample was changed. The crime branch wants to know whether a patient’s sample was used to change the minor’s blood sample or the blood in stock at the hospital was used.
Pune Police has arrested the head of the hospital’s forensic medicine department, Dr Ajay Tawde, Chief Medical Officer Dr Shrihari Halnor and staff member Atul Ghatkamble in connection with the incident. Apart from the Crime Branch, a three-member committee of doctors constituted by the government is also investigating the incident of blood sample replacement in the hospital. The doctors arrested from Pune’s Sasun Hospital had prepared a fake report by replacing the minor accused’s blood sample with someone else’s. This was done so that the fact that he was in an intoxicated state could be hidden in the report.
