Sita Soren joins BJP, Mahua Maji taunts
JMM MLA and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s sister-in-law Sita Soren resigned from the party on Tuesday and soon joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. After joining BJP, Sita Soren claimed that she was being neglected and isolated in the state’s ruling party. Sita Soren joined BJP on Tuesday in the presence of National General Secretary Vinod Tawde and Jharkhand election in-charge Laxmikant Bajpai at its headquarters in New Delhi.
Sita Soren said this
After joining BJP, Sita Soren said, “I worked for the party (JMM) for 14 years but I never got the respect I deserved from the party. That’s why I took this decision (to join BJP). Had to take it.” Having faith in PM Modi, JP Nadda ji and Amit Shah ji, I joined BJP today. We have to save Jharkhand and the lives of our tribal brothers. There is a need for change in Jharkhand.”
Mahua Maji said- I am surprised
On Sita Soren (former JMM MLA and sister-in-law of former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren) joining BJP, JMM MP Mahua Maji says, “We are all shocked. We do not know much about why she did this. ” But the party is currently going through a crisis. So, I think everyone should have some patience. It is unfortunate for our party…elections are round the corner. Our party is strong. People like this alliance, Hemant Soren worked under the guidance of Shibu Soren and Champai Soren is completing the incomplete work. So this is a good message for the last person also…people want that JMM and the coalition government should remain in power once again. Such decisions are taken in haste…”
Why did Sita Soren resign from JMM?
In her resignation letter addressed to party supremo and her father-in-law Shibu Soren, Sita Soren expressed her grievances, claiming that after the death of her husband Durga Soren, JMM failed to provide adequate support to her and her family. Sita Soren lamented that she felt neglected in the party and reluctantly decided to resign from the primary membership of the party. He also expressed his disappointment that the party seemed to deviate from its core values by including people whose principles do not align with its ethos. “I have come to know that a conspiracy is being hatched against me and my family…I am left with no option but to tender my resignation,” the JMM MLA alleged.
