Rahul Gandhi at Independence Day function
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi was given a seat in the back row during the Independence Day celebrations. Congress had accused this of insult. Congress leaders said that Rahul should have been given a seat in the front, but he was deliberately made to sit at the back. However, now former Himachal Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has clarified why Rahul Gandhi was made to sit at the back.
Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that Rahul Gandhi was given a seat in the back row in the Independence Day program as a gesture of respecting the Olympic players and asked them to sit in the front row. There was no other mentality behind making Rahul sit in the back row. There is no insult to the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in this. He said that there is full respect for the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. Himachal Pradesh Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that it does not make sense to do politics on this issue.
6000 guests invited
On the occasion of 78th Independence Day, 6000 people were invited to the Red Fort. Apart from veteran leaders and ministers in the government, there were many special people who have performed remarkably in their field. Players representing India in the Paris Olympics 2024 were also part of the guest list. Apart from this, students benefiting from Atal Innovation Mission and PM SHRI (Prime Minister School for Rising India) scheme, and volunteers of Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) and National Service Scheme under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ were also present at the Red Fort. Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and representatives of farmer producer organizations were also present at the Red Fort.
