Why is the Central Government bringing an amendment bill related to the Waqf Board? : Why is the Central Government bringing an amendment bill related to the Waqf Board? Know the reason

New Delhi. The Narendra Modi government at the center can present the amendment bill related to the Waqf Board Act in the House this week. The Union Cabinet has already approved 40 amendments related to the Waqf Board. Now the question arises that why did the central government need to bring the amendment bill related to Waqf property and why is it being strongly opposed by the Muslim Personal Law Board? We tell you the reason for this.

The Waqf Board has used its unlimited powers to claim many plots and properties. One such shocking case came to light in Tiruchenthurai village of Tiruchi district of Tamil Nadu where the Waqf Board has claimed the land of the entire village including a 1500-year-old temple. In fact, when a farmer Rajagopal of Tiruchenthurai village wanted to sell his agricultural land to repay his loan, he was told by the registrar’s office that the land does not belong to him. The land belongs to the Waqf Board and he will have to get an NOC from the Waqf Board to sell the land.

In this case, it also came to light that the Waqf Board has claimed the land of the 1500-year-old Manendiyavalli Chandrashekhar Swamy temple located in this village. Along with this, the Waqf Board has also claimed the entire 369 acres of land of the village. Apart from this, there are many such cases where the Waqf Board has occupied the land using its rights. The Waqf Board has also claimed the land of 18 other villages in Tamil Nadu and said that on the basis of the survey in 1954, the government had handed over this land to the Waqf Board. Apart from this, the land of the Gurudwara in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana was transferred to the Waqf.
