Providence. With the help of half-centuries from Aiden Markram and Kyle Verreynne, South Africa gained a lead of 239 runs on the second day of the second Test match against West Indies. South Africa, who scored 160 runs in their first innings, have scored 223 runs for five wickets in their second innings till the end of the second day’s play. The West Indies team was all out for 144 runs in their first innings.
Markram scored 50 runs while Warren is playing after scoring 51 runs. With him, Wiaan Mulder is playing after scoring 34 runs at the other end. Earlier, Jason Holder played an unbeaten innings of 54 runs for West Indies. He shared a 40-run partnership for the tenth wicket with Shamar Joseph (25) to bring West Indies close to South Africa’s score. South Africa’s team is ahead by 239 runs. In such a situation, West Indies may face difficulty. They will have to bowl out South Africa quickly. The third day of the match will start today, August 17, at 7:30 pm.
