South Africa strengthens its grip in the Guyana Test match.

WI vs SA 2nd Test: While the first match of the 2 match test series being played between West Indies and South Africa ended in a draw, the second match is being played at Guyana. On the first day of this match, a total of 17 wickets fell whereas on the second day only 8 wickets fell. At the end of the second day of the Guyana test match, South Africa had scored 223 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in their second innings and they had increased their lead to 239 runs. West Indies team was able to reach a score of 144 runs in their first innings on the second day.

Makram and Vereny played half-century innings

On the second day of the Guyana Test match, a better batting performance was seen from the South African team, in which the pair of Aiden Markram and Tony De Georgi shared a 79-run partnership for the first wicket. While Georgi returned to the pavilion after playing an innings of 39 runs, Markram was dismissed after scoring 50 runs. From here, the bowlers of the Windies team performed a little better and sent half of the African team to the pavilion by the score of 139. After this, Kyle Verreni and all-rounder player Wiaan Mulder handled the innings and shared a partnership of 84 runs for the sixth wicket and did not let the team suffer any further setback till the end of the day’s play. While Verreni was unbeaten after scoring 50 runs, Mulder had also scored 34 runs. In this innings for West Indies, Jayden Seals took 3 wickets while Gudakesh Moti took 2 wickets.

Jason Holder and Shamar Joseph saved West Indies’ honour

On the first day of the second Test match, South Africa was all out at a score of 160, while West Indies also lost 7 wickets at a score of 97 at the end of the day’s play. After this, the Windies team also lost their 9th wicket at a score of 104 on the second day. From here, a partnership of 40 runs in 43 balls was seen between Jason Holder and Shamar Joseph for the 10th wicket. Due to this, South Africa could not succeed in gaining much lead on the basis of the first innings. Holder scored 54 runs while Joseph scored 25 runs.
