A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court to allow Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to talk to cabinet ministers through VC (video conferencing). Advocate Shrikant Prasad has filed this petition in Delhi High Court. The petition said that neither the Indian Constitution nor any law has prevented any minister, including the Chief Minister or the Prime Minister, from running the government from jail.
A public interest litigation has been filed in the High Court demanding that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal be provided adequate facilities in the jail. Through the PIL, a demand has been made to direct that Arvind Kejriwal be provided necessary facilities in jail, so that he can continue working as the Chief Minister of Delhi. The petition argues that the Kejriwal government has launched many schemes which have benefited the people of Delhi and the schemes have also attracted the attention of the global media.
The petition has also sought instructions to stop media channels from running sensational headlines related to the resignation of the CM. It further demands that the Delhi BJP President should be stopped from pressurizing Kejriwal for his resignation through ‘unfair means’.
