Many studies have found that there is a strong connection between extreme anger and heart attack. According to the study, within two hours of getting very angry, the contraction in the heart muscles and blood flow decreases. This is the reason why the risk of heart attack increases during this time. According to the study, the more frequently you get angry, the greater will be the risk of heart attack over time.

Why is there a risk of heart attack

Dr. Nityanand Tripathi, Director of Cardiology Department at Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, says that getting angry is bad anyway. Regular anger increases the risk of heart attack or bleeding in the brain manifold. He said that in fact, any action that releases adrenalin hormone increases the risk of heart attack. Sudden increase in adrenalin causes sudden increase in blood pressure. Due to this, if there is already plaque deposited in the arteries, it can break and then a heart attack can occur. In the beginning, you may not get a heart attack, but if you get angry continuously, then you will have to suffer the consequences of it sometime or the other. Dr. Nityanand Tripathi He told that when you get very angry, hormones like adrenaline, epinephrine and cortisol start getting released in the body. This immediately increases the heart rate and blood pressure. Excess of these three hormones is very bad for us. If these hormones increase, then headache, sweating and heart starts beating fast. Apart from this, chest pain and extreme restlessness start. In such a situation, if someone’s arteries are already weak or bad cholesterol is stuck in it or some part is blocked, then in such a situation, the risk of arteries bursting increases or blood flow may stop. This can increase the risk of heart attack.

Long-term effects of persistent anger

Excessive amount of adrenalin in the body makes the small arteries thinner, which stops the blood supply to the heart. This condition gradually becomes dangerous. Even if you do not get a heart attack and you are constantly getting angry, it will have a bad effect on your health for a long time. This will affect your kidneys, eyes, brain, which can later cause many diseases. Sometimes if adrenalin becomes excessive, it starts connecting directly to the heart cells and increases the amount of calcium in the cells. This weakens the heart muscles and the beats become irregular. This is called stress cardiomyopathy. Therefore, if you already have BP, high cholesterol or diabetes, then getting angry in such a situation can prove to be more fatal. In such a situation, it would be better to make arrangements in advance. In this situation, doctors recommend bypass surgery.

How to control anger
Dr. Nityanand Tripathi He told that when you get angry, first count from one to 10 and think what will you get from this anger. If this also does not help, then keep a ball with you and when you get angry, press it hard. Sometimes anyone can get angry but regular anger is a disease. If you are not able to control it in any way, then consult a psychiatrist. The best way to control anger is yoga and meditation. This keeps the mind and intellect calm. You have to learn that the problem of traffic while walking on the road is for everyone, everyone is in a hurry, in such a situation, it is not right to vent anger on someone. To control anger, walk daily and take out some time and do yoga and meditation. This will purify the mind. At the same time, yoga exercises like taking a long deep breath and then releasing it are also a great way to control anger.
