New Delhi: The 6-day remand of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested by ED in a money laundering case related to excise policy, is ending today. The central agency will present Kejriwal in the Rouse Avenue court at 2 pm. It is reported quoting sources that CBI may seek the custody of Arvind Kejriwal today after ED’s remand ends. Let us tell you that Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal had claimed in a video message on Wednesday that her husband will make a ‘big disclosure’ in the court on Thursday regarding the liquor scam case.
ED expanded the scope of its investigation
Let us tell you that ED has expanded the scope of its investigation in the alleged liquor scam case of Delhi. On Wednesday, ED summoned 4 people including Aam Aadmi Party’s Goa Unit President Amit Palekar and called them for questioning. Today a petition is also to be heard in the Delhi High Court in which it has been said that Arvind Kejriwal is in the custody of ED, he cannot run the government, hence the court should pass an order for his resignation. Let us tell you that AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by ED in this case on March 21 and a court had sent him to the agency’s custody till March 28.
‘Not a single penny was found in ED raids’
Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal on Wednesday claimed that not a single penny was found in the multiple ED raids and on Thursday her husband will make a ‘big revelation’ in the court in the alleged excise policy scam. In a digital press conference, Sunita Kejriwal said that her husband will tell the truth about the alleged liquor scam in the court on March 28 and will also present evidence. She said that when she had met her husband, who was in ED custody, her husband had told her that in the last two years, this central agency had conducted more than 250 raids in the ‘so-called liquor scam’ but till now ‘only one’ has been found in these raids. Not even money was found.
’73 thousand rupees found in raid on CM residence’
Sunita Kejriwal claimed that ED raided the premises of ‘AAP’ leaders Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Satyendra Singh but no money was found. He said the ED raided the Chief Minister’s residence but found only Rs 73,000. He questioned where the money from the ‘so-called liquor scam’ was. Let us tell you that former Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia and AAP Rajya Sabha member Singh was arrested last year in the excise case. Former minister Satyendra Jain was arrested in a case related to money laundering.
‘Kejriwal is a patriot and a true person’
Sunita Kejriwal said that Arvind Kejriwal is a brave, patriotic and true person and his determination is strong even after suffering from diabetes. She said, ‘My husband issued instructions to Water Minister Atishi while in custody. The Center had a problem with this. Do they want to destroy Delhi? She said that her husband is very sad about this issue. Sunita Kejriwal appealed to the people to pray for the health and success of the Delhi Chief Minister.
