The Indian hockey team performed brilliantly in the Paris Olympics 2024 and won the bronze medal. At the same time, the role of experienced goalkeeper PR Sreejesh was the most important in this great victory of Team India, who performed brilliantly even under pressure. Sreejesh had announced even before the start of this Olympics that this would be the last tournament of his career. Hockey India also announced to give a big responsibility to Sreejesh along with his retirement, in which he has also been made the new head coach of the Indian junior hockey team. Now a big statement has also come from Sreejesh regarding this.

I will talk to my family and take a decision on this further

In his interview to PTI, PR Sreejesh said on being made the coach of the junior hockey team that I have received an offer from Hockey India and I have spoken to General Secretary Bhola Nath Singh on this. When I return to the country, I will decide on this offer after talking to my family. At the same time, Sreejesh also said about the semi-final defeat against Germany that yes that defeat was definitely disappointing for us but we are returning after winning at least one medal which is a big thing for all of us.

A lot depends on how you handle pressure

Regarding the pressure of playing in the Olympics, PR Sreejesh said that everything depends on how you handle the pressure at this level. We play hockey throughout the year. Olympics is also like that but when you come here and play, you get to know about the real pressure. We have to prepare the upcoming players for this so that things become a little easier for them.
