Stock Market Holiday on Raksha Bandhan: The festival of Rakshabandhan will be celebrated across the country on Monday, August 19. If you are thinking that the stock market will be closed on Rakhi, then it is not so. The stock market will remain open on the day of Rakshabandhan. Both Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange will remain open on Rakhi day. You will be able to buy and sell shares on this day as on normal days. Trading will be open on this day in all segments including equity, derivatives, securities lending and Boroind (SLB). Apart from this, trading will also continue in currency and interest rate derivatives segments.
When will the stock market be closed in the year 2024
- The stock market will be closed on October 2 on account of Gandhi Jayanti.
- Due to Diwali Laxmi Pujan on 1st November, only Muhurat trading will take place in the stock market.
- The stock market will be closed on November 15 on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
- The stock markets will remain closed on 25 December on account of Christmas.
