IMD Weather Update: People are suffering from the scorching heat in the entire North-West India including Delhi-NCR. Due to the increasing temperature day by day, hot winds are blowing rapidly in the states. The maximum temperature in many parts of the country has reached 48 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the temperature in Phalodi of western Rajasthan crossed 49 degrees. The temperature in Phalodi was recorded at 49.4 degrees on Monday. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no hope of relief from scorching heat for the next three days in Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Punjab.
Meteorological Department Chief Mrityunjay Mohapatra said on Monday that the states of North West India are not likely to get relief from heat wave till May 31, while there are chances of change in weather in Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi may witness light rain along with clouds, but there is no possibility of a drop in temperature at present.
The condition of the hill states?
The chief of the Meteorological Department said that due to Western Disturbance and moisture from the Arabian Sea, light rain is possible after thunderstorms in the northwest and central regions. Apart from this, there are chances of rain in the hilly states as well, which can give relief to the people from the heat. At present, except for a few districts of Uttarakhand, most places are experiencing severe heat during the day. In Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun, the temperature remains around 40 degrees and around 26 degrees at night.

Heatwave is prevailing in the entire state. Phalodi in Rajasthan was the hottest place in the country with 49.4 degrees. At the same time, maximum temperature of 48 degrees was recorded in Barmer, Jaisalmer, Pilani, Sri Ganganagar, Kota, Bikaner, Dholpur and Churu. There is a possibility of further increase in temperature in the state today.

At the same time, West Bengal has witnessed massive destruction due to cyclone ‘Remal’. 6 people have died due to cyclone ‘Remal’ in the coastal areas of Bengal, while more than 29 thousand houses have been damaged. Apart from this, 1700 electricity poles have also been damaged. Still about 2 lakh people have been kept in relief centers.
