Actually this incident happened on Friday evening. About 55 year old woman Reema Mukesh Patel living in Mulund area of Mumbai reached Atal Setu bridge built on the sea connecting South Mumbai to Navi Mumbai by sitting in a taxi with the intention of committing suicide. After this, the woman stopped the taxi in the middle of the bridge and got down. The cab driver found the woman’s statement suspicious, so he also got down from the taxi. During this, the woman sat on the railing of the bridge with the intention of jumping into the sea. Then the taxi driver tried to convince her. Meanwhile, the traffic police vehicle deployed on the bridge reached there.
Seeing the police car, the woman sitting on the railing lost her balance and started falling down, then the cab driver standing near the woman showed agility and caught the woman’s hair. This way the woman could not fall down from the bridge. Then the policemen showed bravery and climbed the railing and pulled the woman up. This way the woman’s life could be saved. However, the information as to why this woman wanted to commit suicide has not been revealed. Let us tell you that a few days ago also an engineer had committed suicide by jumping from Atal Setu.
