Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is starting from October 20 on Bangladeshi soil. ICC has announced the schedule for this. 10 teams are participating in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Eight teams have already been decided. The two teams that will qualify for the main tournament will be decided along with the two teams that will make it to the finals of the qualifying tournament. Now the Scotland women’s team has created history and qualified for the T20 World Cup for the first time.
Scotland qualified
In the first semi-final of the qualifying round, Scotland women’s team defeated Ireland by eight wickets and entered the final of the qualifiers. With this the team has qualified for a T20 World Cup for the first time. In the tournament, each team will play four group matches and the top two teams from each group will make it to the semi-final matches to be held on October 17 and 18. The final match will be played on 20 October.
Ireland won the match
Batting first, Ireland women’s team scored 110 runs in 20 overs. This target was easily chased by the Scotland women’s team. Ireland won the toss and batted first. This decision proved to be absolutely wrong for Ireland. The team’s opener could not even open her account. Leah Paul definitely played an inning of 45 runs. Rebecca Stokell scored 35 runs. These two players made a partnership of 22 runs for the sixth wicket. Apart from these two, no one could perform well.
Katherine Bryce took four wickets
Captain Katherine Bryce bowled amazingly for Scotland. He took 4 wickets for 8 runs in his four overs. It was because of him that the Irish team could not score big. After this he also scored 35 runs with the bat. Scotland’s opening batsmen Megan McCall and Saskia Horley started with a 49-run partnership. Megan McCall scored 50 runs. Katherine Bryce was given the Player of the Match award for her all-round performance.
