Ukraine appears to be losing its courage in the face of relentless attacks by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s military. Russia claims that 265 Ukrainian soldiers laid down their arms during the fighting at Azovstal. These fighters were defending Ukraine’s last strong fortress, the steel mill. Russia says its mission in Mariapol has been completed on Monday. Putin’s army has taken control of the whole area after taking these fighters out of the mill.
Russia says many of the 265 soldiers who surrendered are seriously injured. At present, it is not known whether the soldiers who surrendered will be kept in the category of prisoners of war or not. On the other hand, according to the news of Reuters, the Russian Defense Ministry has claimed that its missiles have destroyed the ship of America and Europe, in which the weapons were loaded. This consignment was going to Ukraine.
It should be noted that Russian troops were attacking with heavy weapons, missiles and mortars to capture the steel plant in Mariapol. Ukrainian soldiers have laid a network of tunnels under this steel plant. Coming out of this, they were attacking the Russian army. To capture the mill, Russia changed its strategy and used tunnel-destroying weapons.
On the other hand, Ukraine claimed that the Russian army was attacking the steel plant with banned phosphor bombs. Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov released a video showing phosphorus bomb attacks on a steel plant. He said that the Russian army was committing the cruelest act. It is adopting inhuman methods to occupy Ukraine.
Embassies of many countries have started functioning again after the Russian attacks in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv slowed down. Indian embassy will also start in Kyiv from today. Regarding this, the Ministry of External Affairs said that the Indian Embassy in Ukraine, which was temporarily operating from Poland, will resume its operations in Kyiv from May 17.
The Russian President is facing opposition in his own country amid the war with Ukraine. The former Russian prime minister has said that Russia has lost this war. Mikhail Kasyanov said Russian President Vladimir Putin is beginning to realize that he is losing the war. Mikhail was the first prime minister after Putin became president.
