Chandigarh A complaint was received from the common man that P.W.D. (B&R) Under the branch Yamunanagar, there is a lot of irregularity in the work of the bridge on the Yamuna river in village Jathalana and substandard construction materials are being used. The work of the bridge was to be completed in the year 2021, it has not been completed yet and cracks have also come in the work of the bridge.
Taking cognizance of this, special checking was done on the spot by the Technical Team of the Anti -Corruption Bureau on 29.5.2025 in the presence of the complainant, local residents and the officers and employees of the concerned department.
During the inspection, the measurement and non -distributed testing of the reinforced cement concrete (RCC) and plane cement concrete conducted by the contractor was done and samples were taken as per rules. During the opportunity inspection, the RCC from the ferro scanning machine Steel used in the work of was also checked. During the opportunity inspection, a lot of flaws were found in the work of the bridge such as cracks in Pile Cap No-9 and the cement concrete block scattered here and there.
Prima facie the construction of the bridge has not been done by the contractor according to the government fixed norms/instructions. PWD, who has done the work for this, (B&R) The officers/employees and contractors of the branch Yamunanagar are responsible. In this regard, the further further action is being implemented by the ACB.
ACB It is appropriate to the public to inform us about poor level government construction works so that their special checking can be done.
