Mumbai Uddhav Thackeray is now embroiled in a new controversy. The controversy is of terrorist Yakub Memon. Yakub Memon was sentenced to death in connection with the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts. His body was buried in a cemetery in Mumbai. BJP alleges that earlier this was a normal grave, but during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Uddhav Thackeray, the grave was given the form of a tomb. Marble and tiles were installed and lighting was done around the tomb. BJP has sought answers from Uddhav, NCP and Congress in this matter that why a terrorist who carried out bomb blasts in Mumbai was glorified so much? So far there has been no response from Uddhav or any leader of Mahavikas Aghadi in this matter.
Ram Kadam, one of the tallest leaders of Maharashtra BJP, has said that it is a matter of shame that the one who shocked Mumbai with bomb blasts and got the death penalty, his grave was decorated and turned into a mazar. He said that all this work was done during the government of Uddhav Thackeray. Ram Kadam said that Uddhav, who runs the government of Mahavikas Aghadi and other leaders of the alliance, will have to answer in this matter. Please tell that Tiger Memon, brother of Yakub Memon, was a companion of Dawood Ibrahim. Together they had blasted many places in Mumbai in 1993. In which more than 200 people died.

Yakub Memon was convicted by the special TADA court. He was sentenced to death in 2007. His sentence was upheld by the High Court and the Supreme Court. Even a day before the hanging, his mercy petition was heard in the Supreme Court the night before. Yakub was hanged on 30 July 2015. His body was buried in the Bada Cemetery in Mumbai.
