Dubai: The US Army has carried out a massive airstrike on the Houthis in Yemen. Many radars of the Houthi rebels have been destroyed in this. It is being told that the radar bases of the Houthis were targeted in the US Army’s airstrike. This created panic among the Houthis. Officials said on Saturday that the Houthis were using these radar centers to attack ships in the Red Sea corridor, which is important for shipping.
This attack by the US military comes after a crew member of a commercial vessel went missing after an attack by Houthi rebels in the east. These attacks have come at a time when the US Navy is facing the most fierce battle since World War II to counter the Houthi campaign. The rebels say that these attacks have been carried out to stop the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip.
Houthi radar destroyed
The army’s ‘Central Command’ said that the US attacks have destroyed seven radar bases in the Houthi-controlled area. The Houthis were carrying out attacks on commercial and non-commercial ships of various countries in the Red Sea through these radars. Now the US Army has blown it up. However, no further information was provided by it. The US Army said that the pilot of a Liberian-flagged ship went missing after the attack by the Houthis. (AP)
