‘Girl went to Virar’s Jeevadani temple’
According to the police, accused Prem Patil and Karan Patil scared the girl that she was shared with ghosts. The incident started when the girl went to the Jeevadani temple in Virar. After returning from there, his health deteriorated. Both the accused told him that he was shared by ghosts and if he is not treated, she will never be a mother and the life of her future husband could also be threatened.
‘The accused took the girl to a hotel’
The accused pretended to take the girl to a so -called Baba, who allegedly claimed to have corrected some rituals. He then took him to a hotel in Nalasopara, where he raped her. When the girl realized this, she showed courage and lodged a police complaint. The police immediately took action and arrested the two accused, Prem Patil and Karan Patil on Tuesday.
‘The accused were caught in a few hours’
Police said the accused were apprehended within a few hours of receiving the complaint. A case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code (BNS), Poxo Act and Maharashtra Human Bali and other inhuman practices and witchcraft prohibition Acts. A Vasai court has sent both the accused to police custody. The police officer said that the case is being investigated rapidly to provide justice to the victim.
