Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday hit out at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal over the 2015 sacrilege case. Sidhu asked who was stopping his party’s government in the state from taking action against those involved in desecration of religious texts. Former Punjab Congress chief Sidhu shared a video clip from last year in which Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal can be heard saying that action can be taken against those accused of sacrilege incidents within 24 hours.
Navjot Singh Sidhu tweeted that who is stopping you now… Arvind Kejriwal. Sidhu has posted a video clip on his Twitter handle, in which Kejriwal can be heard saying that the people of Punjab are angered by the inaction over the sacrilege incidents in Faridkot in 2015.

‘The culprits can be arrested within 24 hours’
Addressing the media in the video clip, Kejriwal had said, “The masterminds of sacrilege incidents have not been punished yet. I do not need to tell who are the kingpins. Their names are in the report of Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh.” , and (Charanjit Singh) Channi sahib can see him. The culprits can be arrested within 24 hours.”
After all, is Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh?
Former IPS officer Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh was part of the Special Investigation Team probing the incidents of police firing in Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan in Punjab in 2015. He joined AAP last year and was elected MLA from Amritsar North assembly constituency in this year’s elections. There were incidents of sacrilege and subsequent police firing in Faridkot in 2015. At that time the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party government was in the state.
