Crime News Desk!! The police has arrested the vicious criminal who killed his wife by throwing acid on her in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri from Maharashtra’s Kolhapur district. The accused was absconding for the last one year. During this time, he was constantly changing his identity. The police had placed a bounty of Rs 25,000 on his head.
He loved going to the temple. He would often stay there. His wife was angry because he did not spend time at home. He was unemployed. He was not earning money. His wife would always beat him up. He also doubted his wife’s character. Therefore, there were fights between the two every day. One day, that man attacked his wife with acid. She was badly injured in this attack. She was admitted to the hospital, but she died.
Based on the wife’s confession before dying, the police registered a case against the accused. They started looking for him. But he had left Delhi. He kept running away and the police kept chasing him. He had thrown his mobile phone away from him. Due to this, it was becoming difficult for the police to trace his location. He was also constantly changing his name. Therefore, it was becoming difficult to identify him. Thus, one year passed since the incident.
The police also put a reward of Rs 25,000 on the accused’s head. A dedicated team was set up. Based on whatever inputs were received, the police team searched for him. One day, information was received that a person resembling the accused was staying in a temple in Kolhapur, Maharashtra these days. The police reached there without any delay. But the accused looked like a sadhu with his beard and hair. He could hardly be identified.
Delhi Police has arrested the accused. This is the story of a cunning criminal who says he loves God, but his actions do not match his words. The 61-year-old criminal’s name is Jitendra, who hails from Gujarat. He came to Delhi in his childhood.
On April 29 last year, Jitendra threw acid on his wife in Jahangirpuri area of North West Delhi. It is being told that he suspected his wife’s character. He felt that she was having an illicit relationship with another man. After this incident, a case was registered in Jahangirpuri police station under section 326 A (causing grievous hurt by acid) on the basis of the wife’s statement. After this, the police investigation was going on.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amit Goyal said, “The accused’s wife died during treatment. After this, murder charges were also added against him. Jitendra was absconding since the crime and he kept changing his location in different states.” The police were unable to trace him as he was not using a mobile phone. He kept changing his identity to avoid arrest.
Meanwhile, the accused went to many religious places and stayed there, but after a few days he changed his location. The DCP said, “Our team got information that the accused was living in Maharashtra. He was caught from Kolhapur on April 2. He was unemployed when he killed his wife. Meanwhile, he used to spend most of his time in local temples.” The police has brought the accused to Delhi and he is being produced in the local court here.
