Ahmedabad. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday cautioned the international community against making unwanted political comments on India’s internal issues and said any such interference would receive a “strong response”. Jaishankar’s comments come in the wake of recent statements by diplomats from the US, Germany and the United Nations in connection with the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
India has strongly opposed these statements. Jaishankar told reporters, “Someone asked a UN person (about Kejriwal’s arrest), and he gave some answer. But in other cases, I would say very clearly that these are old habits, these are bad habits.” The minister stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty of nations and refraining from interfering in each other’s domestic affairs. . He said, “There is a certain dignity between countries. We are sovereign countries, we should not interfere in each other’s internal affairs, we should not comment on each other’s politics.

He said that if any country comments on India’s politics, “then they will get a very strong response from us and this has happened.” Jaishankar said, “We urge all the countries of the world to think about the world.” You have your own views, but no country has the right to comment on the politics of another country, especially in such circumstances.
