New Delhi. With the rapid sale of vehicles and the increasing population in cities, traffic jams are becoming the biggest problem today. In metro cities like Hyderabad and Bangalore, people are afraid to go out on the roads in the morning and evening. But, in the coming few years, whether you get rid of this problem of traffic jam or not, but you will not have to go out on the road to go to office. Three companies together have started working rapidly on air taxis and in the next few years, the common man will start getting the facility of air taxis.
Air taxi manufacturing company eVTOL has claimed that this project will be completed in the next 5 to 6 years. Drone startup Marut Drone has also joined hands with this company. These air taxis can be autonomous i.e. without a driver or with a driver. The companies claim that the distance which currently takes an hour to cover in traffic, can be covered in just 2 to 3 minutes. There is a plan to run this air taxi in cities by the year 2030.
Where will the service start first?
Both the Chennai and Bangalore based startups have planned to start the first air taxi service in Hyderabad. Marut Drone has also planned to trial it by next year by joining hands with Japan’s air taxi company SkyDrive’s eVTOL. The Japanese company says that it will start running air taxis in Dubai and Singapore by 2026. After this, it will be launched in Hyderabad, India. 9 to 10 months will be spent in testing and then approval will be taken from DGCA.

What will be the range and speed
The air taxi will have a capacity of 3 to 5 seats to 10 seats. Its range will be 700 to 800 km and it will be able to carry people up to a maximum distance of 300 km. It will be flown on lithium battery and hydrogen fuel. The air taxi can be flown up to a height of 500 meters to 1000 meters and its maximum speed will be 260 kilometers per hour. Its weight will also be half that of a helicopter.
how much will the fare be
AirArk, the company that made the prototype of single pilot air taxi, says that the initial fare of air taxis running in cities will be kept between Rs 150 and Rs 200 per kilometer. This will promote tourism and in case of emergency, people will also find it easier to reach their destination quickly. Currently, it takes 2 hours to reach Electronic City from Bangalore Airport, whereas this distance can be covered in 10 to 12 minutes by air taxi.
