Saavan Kumar was killed in a dispute over eating Kurkure for Rs 5, his friend turned out to be the murderer.The accused youth who was under the influence of alcohol committed the crime with a knife; the incident happened due to a dispute over food and drinks. Police arrested the deceased’s friend accused of murder, the knife used in the murder was recovered. On the night of August 4, the murder took place by stabbing near the Officer Colony in the Nagar Police Station area.

In the case of stabbing a youth to death near Officer Colony of Nagar police station of Gopalganj district in Bihar on the night of August 4, the police has claimed to have solved the case by arresting the named accused. According to the police, a youth named Saavan Kumar was stabbed to death in a dispute over eating Kurkure worth just five rupees. The murderer is none other than the deceased’s close friend Kritiman Kumar. The police arrested the accused from his house a few hours after the murder and sent him to jail after registering a case.
Sadar SDPO Pranjal Tripathi said that Saavan Kumar got off his cousin’s bike at Hajiapur turn on the night of the incident, after that instead of going home, he went to his friend after getting a call. Kritiman gave 20 rupees to Saavan to buy Kurkure worth five rupees, but Saavan ate the Kurkure on the way and when he reached him, a dispute arose over eating Kurkure. There was an altercation between the two, after which his other friends intervened and resolved the dispute.
After some time, the matter escalated to abuse, after which Saavan Kumar Soni started walking towards his home. He had reached some distance when the accused called him and asked him to come near the Officer Colony and caught Saavan and stabbed him repeatedly with a knife, killing him. After the incident, the blood-stained knife was thrown in the bushes. The accused’s black shirt had a blood stain on it, which was washed when he reached home, but the police confiscated the clothes as well. Scientific and technical investigations found sufficient evidence of murder.
City Inspector Omprakash Chauhan, Additional Police Station Incharge Mantu Kumar Rajak, Police Officer Mankeshwar Mahato, Jaihind Yadav, Vikas Kumar, Ashutosh Ranjan, Aamir Hussain, Sudhir Kumar, Rakhi Kumari, Ranjan Kumar, Anil Kumar and DIU team identified the accused through CCTV and arrested him by raiding his house in Hajiyapur Ward No. 8 of City Police Station. Sadar SDPO said that the police team has done a good job after the murder, so a recommendation will be made for rewarding them. Let us tell you that after the murder on the night of August 4, the family members had created a ruckus by blocking NH-27 on the morning of August 5.
Police found evidence in forensic investigation
After the murder, the police got the knife and other evidence recovered from the crime scene examined by the forensic team. In the scientific investigation, the police found solid evidence of the murder, after which the police has accelerated the investigation by collecting evidence. The family was saying that the accused was a minor.

The police started investigating the murder case and the accused and the deceased were seen coming and going in the CCTV footage. Based on the CCTV footage, the police expanded the scope of investigation and raided the house of the accused and arrested him. There was no sign of the accused’s murder on his face.
