New Delhi. Police have registered an FIR in this regard after the word ‘Ram’ was found written on the wall of a mosque during Holi festival in Majalgaon town of Beed district of Maharashtra. A police officer gave this information on Tuesday. According to a Maharashtra Police official, the word ‘Ram’ engraved on the wall of the mosque was seen around 5 pm on Monday, the day Holi festival was celebrated in the state.
The police officer said, “There is a mosque named Markaz in Majalgaon. On the back wall of this mosque, someone wrote the word ‘Ram’ with Holi colors and a pichkari. People of the Muslim community came to the Majalgaon police station on Monday night and lodged a complaint in connection with this incident and demanded action in the matter. “We have registered a case against an unidentified person under sections 295A and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for deliberate and malicious acts intended to hurt religious sentiments and criminal conspiracy,” he said. ”Police are conducting a detailed investigation into this incident.

8 died due to drowning on Holi
In another incident in Odisha, at least eight people, including four students, died due to drowning while taking bath after celebrating Holi in five districts. Three students drowned in Cuttack, two in Balasore and one each in Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam and Sambalpur districts. A police officer said that these incidents took place after Holi celebrations in various villages of these districts. He told that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. A Class 12 student drowned in a pond in Karmuan village in Cuttack, while a minor died while bathing in Katkula village in Jagatsinghpur, a police officer said.
