It has 14 major equipment which are helpful in measuring time measuring, prediction of eclipse, speed and position of a star, planets of solar system, etc. These include the world’s largest stone sunshine or sunny, named Brihad Emperor Yantra. This astronomical device is designed in such a way that its structure is about 27 meters high. History
Jantar Mantar, located near the City Palace, was built by the founder and astronomer of Jaipur Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh with the objective of getting accurate information about space and time. Before its establishment, Sawai Jai Singh collected and studied the manuscripts of the major and important texts of astronomy from various countries of the world. After which the Maharaja, with the help of the famous and famous astronomers of that period, built 5 observatories based on Hindu astronomy in Delhi, Banaras, Ujjain and Mathura besides Jaipur. The Jaipur Observatory was built in 1724 AD. It was launched in 1734 AD and completed 10 years later. Out of the 5 observatories built by him, only Jantar Mantar of Delhi and Jaipur is left, the rest have been converted into old ruins.
It is still used today
It is a wonderful collection of architectural astronomical devices, which are still used for calculation and teaching. Apart from this, this astronomical observatory is also used to inspect and study planets around the Sun. The observatory is spread over an area of about 18,700 square meters. Its construction has used very good quality marble stones. It is also famous for its amazing structure. The Ram Yantra kept here is the main device to measure celestial height, while the emperor device can measure the local time with an accuracy of 2 seconds. Apart from this, Advantansh Yantra, Disha Yantra, Nadi Valaya Yantra, Jai Prakash Yantra, Laghusmrat Yantra, Pashshsh Yantra, Shashi Valaya Yantra, Chakra Yantra, Digansha Yantra, Dhruvastha plaque, Southodak Yantra, Jai Prakash Yantra are also present here.
