He killed our country’s national bird peacock, cooked it and ate it. He also shared the video on social media. A YouTuber named Kodam Pranay Kumar posted a video on YouTube with the title Traditional Peacock Curry Recipe. This video of making ‘Peacock Curry’ went viral on social media in no time. People started protesting against this video of cooking and eating the national bird. After the matter came to light, this YouTuber was arrested.
Pranay Kumar has been arrested under the Wildlife Protection Act. Let us tell you that peacock comes under the protected species. Forest department officials say that the killing of a protected species of bird was promoted in the video. After arresting Pranay Kumar, the police also took him to the place where he had cooked the peacock and shot the video. After the police arrested YouTuber Pranay Kumar, the video related to his social media account has been deleted.
In this regard, Telangana’s Sircilla Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan says that peacock is protected under Section 51 (1-A) of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and its hunting and killing is strictly prohibited. Pranay Kumar’s blood samples and the peacock curry he had made have also been sent for testing. According to the police, if the investigation confirms that it is peacock meat, further action will be taken against Pranay Kumar under the relevant sections. At the same time, the authenticity of the video is also being investigated.
