New Delhi. Veteran fast bowler Zaheer Khan can be seen in the Lucknow Super Giants team in the upcoming season of IPL. LSG can make Zaheer the mentor of the team. He can replace former mentor Gautam Gambhir. Apart from this, this franchise can also appoint Zaheer as bowling coach in place of bowling coach Morne Morkel. This means that he can play a dual role in this franchise.

According to a Cricbuzz report, the LSG franchise is considering making Zaheer Khan their new mentor. And his bowling expertise will also come in handy in helping the team’s bowlers. Earlier, Zaheer was shortlisted as a candidate for the vacant bowling coach role in the Indian cricket team, where he will mentor the team’s young fast bowlers. Zaheer has done the same during his playing days.

Zaheer Khan has been a part of the team management of Mumbai Indians for a long time. After being the bowling coach, he has been the Director of Cricket of the Mumbai team. In 2022, MI made Zaheer the Global Head of Players Development. Zaheer has been playing this role for two years. But now it seems that he will be seen in a new role in the next season of IPL. There is no mentor in LSG since 2022. Earlier, Gautam Gambhir was the mentor of this team for two consecutive years. Before the start of last season, he moved to KKR.
