MPs stood and clapped for Zelensky
Zelensky won the hearts of the European Parliament with his address today. After his speech, all the MPs stood up and clapped for him. During this Zelensky said that we are fighting for our land and our freedom, despite the fact that all our cities are now blocked. No one is going to break us, we are strong, we are Ukrainians.
Russia’s fierce attack on Kharkiv
On Tuesday, footage from inside the Civil Public Administration building in Kharkiv showed it was badly damaged. Its roof collapsed and debris was scattered all around. Zelensky had already accused Putin of war crimes after Moscow’s military carried out cluster and vacuum bomb attacks amid reports of defeat. In his address late on Monday, Zelensky said the issue would certainly be raised in the international tribunal. No one in the world will forgive you for killing a peaceful Ukrainian. Prosecutors in The Hague have said they want to launch an investigation as soon as possible.
11 killed in cluster bomb attack
Zelensky spoke on Monday after the cluster bomb attack on the city of Kharkiv. At least 11 people were killed and many were injured in this attack. Ukraine’s ambassador to the US also accused Putin’s military of using banned thermobaric bombs overnight on the Kyiv capital. It was a new form of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that initially met with a massive failure in its initial plans to destroy key targets and infrastructure. Now the war has entered a new phase, aimed at besieging cities such as Kharkiv, Kyiv, Mariupol, Sumy and Kherson that have so far put up fierce resistance. The Russian military used weapons and bombs here on the same lines as the rebel forces in Syria fighting against dictator Bashar al-Assad.
Russia’s biggest attack on Kyiv
It is feared that there will be a fierce attack by the Russian army on Kyiv. That fear reached new heights on Tuesday as satellite images showed a column of Russian military vehicles headed for the capital is actually 40 miles long, compared to 4 miles taller on Monday. The most advanced unit in the column is now just 15 miles from the city. The convoy has been slowed down considerably by Ukrainian resistance, but is getting closer to Kyiv by the day. Russia seems to be planning a one-on-one fight after completely besieging Kyiv. A glimpse of the time to come was found when the city of Kharkiv was bombed by Russia. This place is located at a distance of 25 miles from the Russia-Ukraine border and is home to 10.5 million people.
