What is a biometric process?

Your fingerprint scan, iris scan (eye scan) and photographs are taken during Aadhaar enrollment. Apart from this, all the documents are examined and the details are recorded.

What happens after nomination?

You are given an enrollment slip with a 14 -digit enrollment number (EID). Through this number, you can know the status of your application by visiting UIDAI’s website. After verification of all the information, your Aadhaar card is sent to your address within 90 days.

Who cannot make Aadhaar card?

There are some people who cannot apply for Aadhaar card:

Foreign nationals: Foreign nationals living in India are not eligible for Aadhaar card.

Illegal intruders: Those who are living in India without valid documents will not get the Aadhaar card.

Dead person: Aadhaar card cannot be issued in the name of a dead person.
