Due to wrong eating habits, the balance of the three main elements of the body, Vata, Pitta and Kapha, can get disturbed. Due to which the person may fall ill due to poor health. A similar rule of Ayurveda has also been given regarding milk and the food items eaten with it. According to Ayurveda, there are some food items which, if consumed with milk, can reduce the nutritional value of milk or cause upset stomach of the person.
These 5 things should not be eaten with milk
citrus fruits
According to Ayurveda, sour fruits like orange, lemon and grapes should never be consumed with milk. Consuming sour fruits with milk can cause digestive problems for the person due to the acidity of the sour fruits. Apart from this, this food combination can also hinder the absorption of calcium and other essential nutrients by reducing the nutritional values of milk.
spicy food
Drinking milk after eating spicy food can cause disturbances in the digestive system. Casein, a protein found in milk, may slow down digestion by diluting the enzymes involved in digestion. Due to which milk protein is not digested properly. Whereas spicy food produces acid in the body and causes irritation in the intestines. Drinking milk can worsen this problem.
sea food
One should avoid eating sea food like fish with milk. This is because the nature of fish and milk is different. Eating these two together can cause chemical imbalance in the body, which can cause indigestion and stomach upset and can also have adverse effects on health.
High fiber food with milk
Consuming high-fiber foods with milk can slow down the digestion of the milk, potentially causing bloating, gas, and discomfort. Eating fiber rich foods with milk can not only cause heaviness in the stomach but can also cause digestive problems.
leafy green vegetables
Oxalic acid present in leafy vegetables like spinach combines with calcium present in milk to form calcium oxalate crystals. This crystal can cause blockage in the kidneys or urinary tract.
