1. The main reasons for the birth of ego
(1) Ego of knowledge
When a person has more knowledge in an area, he starts considering himself as superior. As this feeling increases, he starts to despise others and it is from here that ‘ego of knowledge’.

Wealth and splendor gives a person social respect, but when he becomes his identity, he starts to understand himself above others. “What do I have?” In this sense, he starts losing ‘who I am’.

(5) Drugs of success
Long -term success and praise creates confusion within a person that he is right in everything and no one can beat him. This thinking gradually makes him egoistic.

Crack in relationships: Egoistic person never gives any status to anyone. It increases distance in relationships and creates emotional breakdown.
Interruption in self -development: The ego prevents a person from learning, because he assumes that he knows everything.
Spiritual decline: The consciousness and ego of the soul cannot run together. The more the ego increases, the less the feeling of the soul will be.
Isolation in society: Egoistic people gradually become socially isolated, because people are not able to be comfortable with them.
3. Measures to avoid ego
(1) Self -determination and inspection
Spend some time with yourself every day and see if your thoughts, words or karma are inspired by ego? This introspection gradually weakens the roots of the ego.
(2) Practice humility
The bigger the person is, the more humble. Humility is not a weakness, but the power that raises the person elevated.

With selfless service, the person comes out of the purview of ‘I’. By working for others, the place of ego takes compassion and compassion.

Measures like meditation, yoga, chanting, and satsang purifies the person from within. These means help in smelting the ego gradually.
(5) Accept criticism
Every criticism is a seed of improvement. When someone interrupts you or advises, accept it politely. It keeps the ego under control.
