In Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, you can deposit a minimum of Rs 250 or a maximum of Rs 1.5 lakh per year. Every year you will have to deposit money in this account by March. Whereas Sukanya account can be opened for two daughters of the family.
Now coming to the question that for how many years money cannot be withdrawn from Sukanya account. Sukanya scheme becomes mature only when the girl child turns 21 years of age. Now if you want to withdraw the money first then you can withdraw partial amount after the daughter turns 18 years old. During this period you can withdraw 50 percent of the total deposit. The remaining amount is saved for daughter’s education and other things.
