If your account is in HDFC Bank and you use UPI for everyday transactions, then this news is important for you. HDFC, the country’s largest private bank, has informed that the UPI services of the bank will remain closed for four hours on 12 April 2025 from 2:30 am to 6:30 pm.
Why will the service be closed?
HDFC Bank has clarified that during this time the bank is going to maintain and upgrade its system. It aims to improve the safety and performance of the bank’s digital services. Due to this upgrade, some other banking services including UPI payment will be temporarily interrupted.
Which services will be affected?
HDFC Bank said that the following services cannot be used during maintenance:
UPI payment using HDFC current and savings accounts
UPI transaction done through Rupay Credit Card
Any transaction done through HDFC Mobile Banking App
The bank has advised customers to settle before this period or use options like prepaid wallet.
Kotak Mahindra Bank’s services will also be affected
Apart from HDFC, Kotak Mahindra Bank has also announced its maintenance window on 12 April.
Time: 1:00 am to 4:00 pm
During this time services like mobile banking, net banking, phone banking and Kotak’s website will be temporarily closed.
What to do users?
If you are a customer of HDFC or Kotak Mahindra Bank, then you should take care of these things during the maintenance period of these banks:
Necessary transactions should be completed in advance
Adopt digital wallet, debit/credit card, or net banking (if available) instead of UPI
Confirm the bank before re -payment in the event of transaction failure
Services are expected to be normal after 6:30 am
