Garlic found to fail in lab test

Smugglers are also a big hand in bringing Chinese garlic from China to here. First this garlic is being brought from China to Nepal and then through smugglers it is being brought to India across the border. The Customs Department seized 16 tons of garlic coming from Nepal and sent 14 tons of it to the lab for testing. This garlic which failed the lab test was destroyed. Fungus was found in this garlic, which was considered harmful for health and this step was taken.
Security was beefed up at the border
While garlic is being sold for up to Rs 300 per kg in the markets of Maharajganj, Chinese garlic is being sold for only Rs 100 to 150 per kg. Taking advantage of this, smugglers are crossing the border and bringing Chinese garlic to India. Security agencies had come to know that a large quantity of Chinese garlic was dumped in Nepal, due to which security was increased at the border. Fungus was found in the garlic that was seized. Due to which it had become infected. Chinese garlic is very dangerous for health. Which causes health related diseases. Apart from this, it is grown artificially, which is even more dangerous for health.
