How banana is beneficial for children

-Dr Surjit Gupta says that banana is soft and easily digestible and hence it can be the first nutritious food to be included in the baby’s diet as soon as he completes six months. Potassium and Vitamin C present in banana help in maintaining good health of the child.

-Banana can be a good travel food for your child. You can feed it to your child whenever he is hungry. Banana can be easily carried anywhere.

-While feeding banana to the baby for the first time, ensure that the banana is fully ripe. After that, you can introduce the taste of banana to your child by mashing it well and giving it with a small amount of milk.

Always keep an eye on the child while feeding him banana. You can gradually increase the quantity of banana with age.

-The fiber present in banana helps in maintaining good digestion. The fiber called pectin in banana is soluble in water. It converts carbohydrates into free flowing sugar. Which helps in digestion and also benefits the child in problems like constipation. Let us tell you, eating banana does not cause constipation, rather the fiber present in it works to provide relief in problems like constipation.

-Due to hyper activities of children, they always need a lot of energy. In such a situation, ripe bananas are energy boosters. The carbohydrates present in them provide instant energy to the child.
