Packaged juice is harmful for health: Readymade food is the new trend all over the world. India still has a tradition of making fresh food at home but most of the western countries do not have such a tradition and most of the people there eat readymade food. Readymade food means food packed from outside. It can be anything. Even rice and roti are packed. To keep it safe for a long time, many types of chemicals are added to it so that it does not get spoiled. In India, the main food is not eaten packaged but biscuits, bread, pastries, soda, diet, energy and juice are packed in packets and people consume them indiscriminately. If you also have this habit then be careful because it can cause a lot of harm. Especially if you have a habit of drinking packaged juice, then it can cause many types of harm.
what is the loss
Dr. Shweta Gupta, Unit Head-Dietetics, Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, said that packaged juices are not healthy at all. They contain high sugar content and low nutrients. The amount of fruit pulp in it is low, while the amount of artificial flavor, stabilizer, sugar/sweetener/fructose syrup is usually very high. Packaged juices usually contain less fruit pulp and high sugar content. Due to this, there is a risk of diabetes and obesity from its consumption. Processed juices also lack fiber, vitamins and minerals. That is, in a way, when you drink packaged juice, all kinds of nutritious things already disappear from it and harmful things remain. Dr. Shweta Gupta advised to eat fresh fruits instead of fresh and packaged juices. This is because when juice is prepared, its pulp is removed and along with it vitamins, minerals, fiber also go away. Therefore, for good health, avoid juice, especially packaged juice.
what to do then
Dr Sukhwinder Singh Saggu, Director, Minimal Access, GI and Bariatric Surgery, CK Birla Hospital, Delhi, said that drinking packaged fruit juices can lead to weight gain, insulin resistance and other health problems. Instead, fresh fruits provide a balanced mix of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Saggu said that despite their healthy branding, packaged fruit juices often contain added sugar and do not contain the essential nutrients and fiber that whole fruits provide. Also, the ingredients used to make these juices often destroy beneficial enzymes and reduce the quality of the product. If you want to maintain a healthy diet, it is best to avoid packaged fruit juices completely. Instead, choose whole fruits or fresh juices, as they provide the nutrition your body needs.
