Bone in toothpaste and soap in toothpaste! Wrong choice may spoil your teeth

A few days ago, Baba Ramdev’s company Patanjali’s toothpaste was much talked about. A person filed a petition in the court and alleged that his company’s toothpaste is not vegetarian. Sea foam i.e. a substance obtained from cuttlefish bones is being added to it. The hearing in this case is on 28 November in the High Court. We all start our morning by cleaning our teeth. The only difference is that some use toothpaste, some use tooth powder and some use toothbrush. Many people do not know which of these is the best for dental health and what is the difference between the three.

Toothpaste was made from bone and powder
White and shining teeth enhance the personality. Now even though toothpaste containing salt, mint and charcoal is being sold in the market, but centuries ago people used to brighten their teeth with toothpaste. Toothpaste started from China about 2600 years ago. It is a powder, which was prepared in the olden days from animal bones and shell powder, but gradually it started being made from things like liquorice, cinnamon, cloves, turmeric, baking soda. Nowadays many Ayurvedic toothpastes are being sold in the market, which claim to have antibacterial properties.

This is why old people used to brush their teeth
Datun means a branch of a tree. In the olden days, people used to clean their teeth with this. Ayurveda Acharya at Sanjeevani Ayurveda in Gurugram Dr.S.P Katiyar It is said that toothpicks are made from the branches of many trees which have different benefits but the best toothpick is the one which is bitter like neem. Apart from this, toothpicks are also made from the branches of acacia, mahua, jamun, bamboo, sheesham and guava. Neem toothpicks are a panacea for many diseases. It prevents teeth from rotting and worms. Acacia toothpicks strengthen gums and protect against ulcers or pyorrhea. Mahua toothpicks solve the problem of loose teeth. The toothpick should always be fresh and should be used while sitting in a squat position.

The first toothpaste made from soap!
Today, even though toothpaste is being sold in many colors and flavors, for the first time in the world, toothpaste was made from soap. In 1824, a dentist named Peabody mixed soap in dental paste so that it would start foaming as soon as it was rubbed on the teeth. In 1850, American businessman John Harris added chalk to this material. About 23 years later, i.e. in 1873, toothpaste was delivered to the people in jars. Today it has become a famous toothpaste company. In 1892, Dr. Washington Sheffield put toothpaste in a tube. Almost all toothpastes sold in the market today are made from water, abrasives, fluoride and detergents, which contain many types of colors and flavors.

Problems due to excessive tooth wear
Dentist in Public Dental Clinics in Delhi Dr. Ravindra It is said that toothpaste is a cleaning agent but often dirt particles are mixed in it. Alum, tobacco and steroids are also added in some. Due to excessive rubbing of teeth, the enamel layer of the teeth gets damaged and gums start deteriorating. People also use Datun but it is not effective. Toothpaste is the best for oral hygiene because it is sold in the market after clinically testing.

Choose toothpaste according to your oral health
An advertisement was widely aired on TV in which it was asked whether there is salt in your toothpaste? Almost all the toothpastes sold in the market have similar ingredients. But excess salt i.e. high sodium spoils the teeth. Dr. Ravindra It is said that if someone has a problem with teeth, they should use toothpaste according to the disease. There are different toothpastes for diseases like tooth sensitivity, pyorrhea, etc. It is more important that people pay attention to their oral hygiene than which toothpaste to use. Indian Dental Association According to the WHO, only 28% people in our country brush twice a day. Whereas 85% are victims of dental cavities and 51% use toothpaste. Brushing twice a day is very important for the health of teeth.

Know your toothpaste
People buy toothpaste but ignore the color code on its strips. Every toothpaste has a color code that tells whether the toothpaste is made from natural ingredients or chemicals. This color code is printed on the end of every toothpaste tube. Blue color means that some ingredients in the toothpaste are natural and some are medicine based. Green color means natural ingredients, red code means natural and chemical ingredients. Toothpaste with black code should be avoided because it is made entirely of chemicals.

Pregnant women should be cautious
Oral hygiene is most important during pregnancy. Dr. Ravindra says that during pregnancy the hormones in a woman’s body constantly change, due to which she may suffer from pregnancy induced gingivitis. In this the gums get swollen and start bleeding. During this time, their treatment is also difficult because not all medicines are given during pregnancy. US National Library of Medicine According to the report, if a pregnant woman gets an infection called periodontal, then the risk of her premature delivery increases.

Do not experiment by looking at the reels
In the era of social media, many reels claim to make teeth shine like pearls. Dentists believe that people should not fall prey to such reels. Once the enamel layer is damaged, one may have to suffer from many diseases. If there is a problem with teeth, go to the dentist.
