Often the question arises whether height can be increased by taking the right nutrition after the age of 18? There are differences among people regarding body height. Although a large part of height depends on our genes, but according to experts, proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle can improve the health of the body and help in increasing height. Doctors say that there are some natural remedies that can affect your height even after becoming an adult.

Dr Rahul Chaura, endocrinologist at Yashoda Hospital, Kaushambi, says that proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle can have a positive effect on bones and posture even after the age of 18. He says, ‘Although major changes in height are rarely seen after 18 years, the right diet and lifestyle can improve bones and posture, which can lead to a slight improvement in height. A balanced diet rich in calcium, vitamin D and protein and regular exercise can improve your height and overall health.’

Although height does not change much after the age of 18, a combination of nutritious food, exercise and healthy habits can improve your posture and body strength, making you look and feel better than before.

It is the right time for you to understand that nutrition plays an important role in building health not just in childhood but throughout life.

Tanvi Chauhan, Manager Health and Nutrition, Bal Raksha Bharat says that if the height seems less than normal in adolescence, then the intake of some nutrients in the diet should be looked at. In some cases, the intake of these nutrients helps in attaining the full height. These nutrients are also needed to keep the body healthy.

Protein and calcium play a very important role in the formation of muscles. Apart from this, it is also important for the development of bones. Pulses, nuts and soy products contain a good amount of protein. Milk, curd, cheese, green leafy vegetables are rich in calcium. Eggs, chicken and fish also provide protein. Adequate intake of protein and calcium can be helpful in achieving the right height.

Apart from this, the third thing is regular exercise. If a person does regular exercise, exercises and yogasanas to increase height, then it also affects the body structure and even after 18 years, the muscles, joints and bones remain strong and it affects the height.
