Aurangabad: More than 81 people have been found dengue positive in the last 7 days at Sadar Hospital in Aurangabad district. They were tested through various kits, in which 81 patients were confirmed with NS1 kit and 13 patients were confirmed with ELISA machine. The Local 18 team got information about the symptoms related to dengue and diarrhea from famous physician/surgeon Dr. Pradeep Kumar.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar said that dengue is an infectious disease that spreads through mosquito bites. Dengue fever can last from 4 to 10 days, and in severe cases it can continue for more than 10 days.
Symptoms of dengue include sudden high fever, headache, vomiting, body ache, and eye pain. If the patient has difficulty breathing, he should immediately seek treatment at the nearest health center. During fever, the patient should stay under a mosquito net and try to stay in a clean place so that the infection does not spread.
Methods of testing for dengue
A lab technician at Sadar Hospital said that the “Day 1 Test” kit for dengue testing consists of two devices. One device detects dengue NS1 antigen, while the other device tests for dengue IgM/IgG antibodies in human serum and plasma. The ELISA machine takes blood samples from patients to check whether they have dengue or not, by identifying antigens and antibodies.
awareness campaign
District Magistrate E. Shrikant Shastri said that the number of dengue patients is increasing in this season. Due to lack of awareness, many people are not able to consult a doctor on time. The district administration will organize an awareness rally regarding serious cases related to dengue.
