However, many times people take these supplements in the wrong way, due to which they do not get the benefit. According to experts, some supplements should not be taken together, otherwise the body will not get the benefit.
Dr. Sonia Rawat, Director of Preventive Health and Wellness Department of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, told AnyTV that there are many supplements that should not be taken together. There should be a gap of a few hours between these two supplements. Taking some vitamins and minerals together can cause problems in each other’s absorption. Due to this, the body will not get the right amount of these things. People should know the right time and right way to take supplements from the doctor, so that they do not have to suffer any kind of harm.
Avoid taking these 5 supplements together
Calcium and Iron – Calcium and iron supplements should not be taken together. Calcium can reduce the absorption of iron. If you need both, take them at different times. Keep a gap of about one hour between calcium and iron.
Magnesium and Iron – Magnesium is an essential mineral for muscles and nervous system. While iron is essential for hemoglobin. Magnesium and iron also affect each other’s absorption. Magnesium can reduce the absorption of iron. In such a situation, do not take these things together.
Vitamin C and Vitamin B12 – Vitamin C is essential for strengthening the immune system, while Vitamin B12 is important for the nervous system. Taking these two supplements together should be avoided, as high amounts of Vitamin C can reduce the absorption of Vitamin B12.
Vitamin D and Magnesium – Vitamin D is necessary for bones and calcium absorption. On the other hand, magnesium also helps in keeping bones healthy. However, one should avoid taking vitamin D and magnesium together. These things can also affect each other.
Vitamin K and Vitamin E – Vitamin K is essential for blood clotting, while Vitamin E is an antioxidant. Excessive intake of Vitamin E can disturb the function of Vitamin K. Therefore, high intake of both vitamins together should be avoided.
