The new government has given great relief to the people of Delhi. Now the intervention of the police will stop in building the house. Now the permission of the police will not be necessary for construction in the capital. On March 1, the Delhi government clarified the situation and said that there is no need to get permission from the police for any construction work. Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, ACS (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Urban Development Department, issued a circular and informed about this.
According to the new circular, MCD controls all the works related to construction of building under Section 336 of DMC Act in Delhi. Local body layout scheme and building plan construction workers are issued under various sections of DMC Act. There are some conditions in these sections under which local body officers can ask for an inquiry report from the police regarding the construction activities. Apart from this, the police has nothing to do with the construction work. Therefore, there is no need for police permission for building construction.
The circular states that there is a misconception among the people that it is necessary to get the permission of the police before doing any construction work, but according to the JCB rules, there is no such thing. However, in this circular, it has been said that according to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Act 1957, if any illegal work is being done then the police can inform the MCD. Taking advantage of this, the police used to misuse it many times. Now if this does not happen, corruption will also be curbed.
It has also been said in the circular of the Delhi government that Delhi Police should inform all its personnel so that people do not have any misunderstanding in this regard. No one should be misused. The circular also states that preventing the police from unnecessarily interfering does not mean that the police should not help when the MCD stops such activities. The police will have to fully help the MCD.
