It is believed that when Shiva plays Tamru and dances Tadmava, new energy is transmitted in nature. The world starts recovering from sorrow and suffering. When Shiva is in meditation, this damru is tied on his trident, but when he is happy, he himself dances while playing this damru. It is believed that during Pradosh period, Lord Shiva dances on the Mount Kailash, playing Damru in joy to mesmerize the world. Shiva’s Damru Nad is considered a symbol of Nad Sadhana. Nad means the sound called ‘ॐ’. The word ॐ originates from Shiva’s Damru, which is also considered the sound of the universe. The sound of Damru is also considered the sound of heroic juice.
What is Damru Mantra and what is its importance in our life? According to the scriptures, this mantra was originated by the Saptarishis to use during treatment in Ayurvedic method.
