In the fast of Hartalika Teej, women fast without food and water. This fast is considered more difficult than Karva Chauth. In this, fasting is done without eating and drinking for the entire 24 hours. In such a situation, it is very important to keep the body energetic. Many times women get troubled by headache and fainting due to hunger and thirst. If you are also going to fast on Hartalika Teej, then definitely eat these things a day before the fast. This will give you energy and the body will not be too dehydrated on the day of the fast. Know what to eat before Hartalika Teej fast?

Must eat these things before Hartalika Teej fast

Cucumber- Make sure to include cucumber in your diet a day before fasting. Eating cucumber keeps the water level in the body fine and prevents the body from getting dehydrated. Therefore, definitely eat cucumber.

Coconut water- You must drink coconut water before the fast and at the time of breaking the fast. This gives energy to the body on the day of fasting. Drinking coconut water removes the deficiency of vitamins and minerals in the body.

Pomegranate juice- Before starting the fast, you should eat fresh fruits and drink pomegranate juice. This will give you energy on the day of fasting. Eating fruits will keep the water level in the body fine and due to the fiber, the stomach will also be fine.

Dry Fruits- Before fasting on Hartalika Teej, soak a handful of nuts in water and eat them. It should include almonds, walnuts, figs, dates, raisins and cashews. Eating dry fruits gives strength to the body.

Yogurt- You must include yogurt in your diet a day before the fast. Eating yogurt does not cause stomach problems. Probiotics in yogurt help maintain the bacterial balance in the stomach.

Other things- You can make milk vermicelli and eat it the night before Hartalika Vrat. It fills the stomach and also gives strength. Drink jaggery and water in the morning before the fast. This will keep you energized. Drink water with lemon and cumin seeds the day before fasting. This will prevent water shortage in the body.
