According to media reports, Central Railways is planning to install panic buttons at many stations in its network. A total of 117 railway stations have been selected to install panic switch buttons. Panic button is a special type of safety device. It is used in emergency situations. In case of emergency, passengers will be able to alert the Railway Protection Force (RPF) by using the panic button.
With the help of panic button, passengers will be able to seek help from RPF personnel in case of trouble. As soon as you press the switch on the panic button. After this the alert will directly reach the RPF control room. In such a situation, after receiving the alert, the passengers will be identified and they will be provided immediate assistance. It is expected that the work of installing panic buttons at railway stations will be completed within a year.
