Hartalika Teej is one of the most auspicious festivals for Hindu women. This festival is dedicated to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. On this day, married women keep a Nirjala fast for the long life of their husbands and unmarried girls keep a Nirjala fast to get their desired groom. In Hartalika Teej, a mandap is prepared and clay idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are installed and worship is done. Phulera has a special significance in making a mandap for worship. So let’s know the right way to make Phulera and also some tips to decorate the mandap.
Teej is incomplete without Phulera
Phulera has a very special significance in the worship of Hartalika Teej. It is said that without Phulera, Hartalika Teej is considered incomplete. Phulera is made using natural flowers, leaves, herbs and bamboo. To prepare it, mainly 5 different types of fresh flowers are used, which symbolize the five daughters of Lord Bholenath, Jaya, Vishhara, Shamilbari, Dev and Dotali. During the worship, Phulera is tied on the Shivling.
This is the right way to make Phulera
Although Phulera is easily available in the market, artificial flowers are used in the Phulera available in the market, which are not considered very auspicious from the religious point of view. Therefore, making Phulera at home on the occasion of Hartalika Teej is considered auspicious. To prepare Phulera, five different types of colorful flowers, mango leaves, needle, thick thread, basket with holes are needed.
To make Phulera, first of all prepare five small torans by weaving colorful flowers and leaves in a thread with the help of a needle. Now if you have a basket with holes, then hang these torans in it in such a way that four torans hang on the sides of the basket and one toran remains in the middle. Now decorate the rest of the empty part of the basket with different flowers. In this way, a beautiful Phulera will be ready. Now tie it on top of the Shivling or the idol of Mata Parvati and Bholenath.
Prepare the Mandap specially for the Puja
On Haritalika Teej, a pavilion of banana leaves and flowers is prepared and Lord Shiva and Parvati are worshipped. To make the pavilion, first place a wooden stool at the place of worship. Now tie a thin bamboo stick to the four legs of the stool with the help of a protective thread. Now tie banana leaves on the four legs of the stool as well. After this, make the roof of the pavilion by covering it with the help of flowers prepared earlier. In this way, a beautiful pavilion will be prepared. Now spread a clean red cloth on the stool, then place the idol of the Lord on the stool.
