Every parent wishes that their child is full of confidence in life, face every difficulty and never scared any challenge. But confidence is not a congenital quality, but it is a mental ability that develops gradually through the right upbringing, environment and inspiration from childhood. If parents keep in mind some important things from the beginning, then such self-confidence can be developed in the child which will keep it resting throughout his life.
1. The first foundation is the atmosphere of love and safety
The child first understands the world with the behavior of his parents. If the atmosphere of the house is full of love, dialogue and security, then the confidence within the child automatically flourish. When the child sees that his parents understand his feelings, accept him, he feels valuable and safe. These emotions lay the foundation of confidence.
2. Teach to accept mistakes, not to be afraid
It is often seen that parents get angry at children’s mistakes or embarrass them. This causes the child to fear from within and avoid trying new things. A child full of confidence is the one who has been taught from childhood that mistakes are part of life, not from them, not afraid.
3. Participation in small decisions
The child will have self -sufficiency and decision -making ability only when it is included in small decisions from the beginning. Like-“What clothes do you have to wear today?” Or “what to eat at dinner?” When the child sees that his opinion is getting importance, both the spirit and confidence of responsibility develop in him.
4. No comparison, inspire
Comparing children with their siblings, friends or neighbors is the biggest mistake. This habit ends confidence. Instead, inspire children according to their personal forces and interests. When you appreciate their efforts, even if the results are small, they feel trust in themselves.
5. communicate, no order
Make a habit of communicating with children. Listen to their words, answer their questions and give them a chance to speak. When the child feels that his point is being given importance, he starts to think of himself as more competent and self -sufficient.
6. Be a role model
Children learn the most by looking at parents. If you are self-confident, responsible and accept the ups and downs of life easily, then the child also adopts these qualities. Your response, language and thinking have a profound effect on the behavior of the child.
7. Give encouragement, no pressure
Encourage children to always improve, but do not create unnecessary pressure on them. Make them realize that it is most important to try, no matter what the result is. This thinking makes them courageous and confident.
