Every parent has a natural desire that their child should be successful and self-sufficient in the future. But success is not a thing to be found in a day. This is a continuous process, whose foundation is laid in childhood. If you want your child to be successful not only in studies but also in every field of life, then it is important to create a hunger for success from childhood.
1. Give positive thinking and environment
It is not easy to understand the minds of children, but the environment around them determines their thinking, understanding and learning direction. When they are surrounded by positivity – whether it is home or school – they feel confident in themselves. So always have encouraging conversations at home. Instead of scolding any failure, explain that mistakes are learned only.
2. Become a role model, give examples not preaching
Children learn what they see. If you work hard yourself, know the value of time and constantly try to learn something new, then the child will adopt the same habits. Include your child in the daily routine-whether it is small work of the house or making a new plan. This will make them understand that hard work and discipline are the first ladder of success.
3. Teach inspirational stories and books
The stories heard in childhood leave an impact throughout their life. Stories of life journey, their struggle and success of great personalities inspire children. He should tell them the lives of personalities like Chanakya, Swami Vivekananda, APJ Abdul Kalam, Rani Laxmibai or give books that awaken the urge to learn and move forward within them.
4. Teach to set goals
Often children work hard without direction, so that they do not get results. Teach them how important goals are. For example, if they want to top the exam, then what topics will have to be paid more attention to them, how much time to give in the day-all these things should be decided by sitting together. This will learn to measure his progress himself and will become self -sufficient.
5. Do not fear failure, make a lesson
Children are often afraid of failure. Explain to them that failure is the biggest teacher. When they bring a low number in a test or lag behind in a competition, do not tell them that they are ‘failed’, but make them realize that this effort is the foundation for the next success. Such experiences make the child mentally strong and prepares more next time.
6. Teach you to compete with yourself
Instead of comparing children to others, inspire them to be better than themselves. “Be better today than tomorrow”-This mantra will take them in the direction of improving themselves day by day. You can show them their old results and say, “Look, you brought so many numbers last month, now a little more improvement can be made.”
7. Promote creativity
Every child is born with a particular quality. Some children are good in art, some in science, some in sports. Identify their interests and guide them in the same direction. When they work in the field of interest, they will automatically take birth within them and the passion to get it will be born within them.
8. Get the habit of time management
The sooner the price of time is understood, the better. Teach children to make time tables for small tasks. Like school homework, play time, TV watching limits etc. Time’s proper use will help them to fulfill multitasking and responsibility in future.
