Meerut: It is important to take care of health. We do take care of it. But many times we are unable to understand the dangerous signs present in front of us. Blue veins start appearing on the hands and feet of many people. People ignore it thinking it is a common thing. But it can also prove to be an alert for health. Let’s know what the experts said.
What causes blue veins?
Dr RC Gupta, Principal of Lala Lajpat Rai Medical College Meerut, told Local-18 that varicose veins occur when the valves of the veins become weak and have difficulty in moving blood back towards the heart. As a result, the veins swell and appear blue. Venous insufficiency, especially in the legs, occurs when blood flow in the veins slows down or blood is not able to return properly. This causes the veins to bulge and look blue.
What is Raynaud’s disease?
Raynaud’s disease is caused by spasms of the veins, which reduces blood flow to the fingers and toes. Due to this, the veins start appearing blue or purple. This problem can be more in cold weather or during stress. At the same time, due to lack of iron in the body, the color of the blood fades and the veins start appearing blue. Iron deficiency can cause problems in blood circulation, which can cause this problem. On the other hand, if blood clots form in the veins, then they can stop blood circulation, due to which the veins start appearing blue. This condition can be very serious and requires immediate medical help.
What to do if your veins look blue
Doctors say that if anyone is facing such a problem, then first of all one should consult a specialist. Blue veins can be a sign of a serious problem, which would not be right to ignore. Not only this, include more fruits, vegetables and iron-rich foods in your diet. This will help in improving blood circulation. Let us tell you that regular exercise improves blood flow and blood circulation in the veins remains fine.
